UGANDA Development Bank Limited (UDBL) has completed the pre-qualifion of suppliers for various goods, works and services for the period 2011-2013. The successful list of suppliers are attached here, indicating the category of goods, works or services that they can supply to the Bank.

Uganda Development Bank Limited is a national development bank whose role is to foster economic development in Uganda. The Bank provides long term and working capital loans. It also finances trade finance loans to businesses for import and export.

The main objective of the Bank is to promote and finace development in various sectors of the Ugandan economy with particular emphasis on agriculture, agro processing, industry, tourism, health, education, transport, housing and commerce.

Uganda Development Bank Limited (UDBL) finances projects that must be bankable, technically feasible, financially viable, economically desirable and environmentally sustainable. Priority is given to:

• Existing projects requiring small assistance to improve their operations
• Projects with a scope of maximizing the country’s resources and product value addition
• Projects aiming at producing quality products, at internationally competitive prices, targeted for export
• Projects creating new job opportunities for the local people

The Bank has/is in the final stages of securing Lines of Credit from Multinational Financial Institutions which include;

• The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB),
• The Arab Bank For Economic Development In Africa (BADEA)
• The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KF).
• The African Export Import Bank (Afrexim Bank)

Funds from the above Lines of Credit together with UDBL own resources are available on competitive terms and conditions, and will benefit enterprises engaged in productive and commercial activities in the key economic sectors.

Due to an incident that happened on sunday 11/july/2010, bob blasts at Ethiopian Village Restaurant and Kyadondo Rugby Club, claimed loss of innocent lives and suffering of injury by innocent people.
