KfW Mission visits UDB.

Mrs Patricia Ojangole, UDB CEO presents a token of appreciation to some of the members of KfW Mission that paid a courtesy call to the Bank.

A delegation from KfW, a German government-owned development bank, paid a courtesy call on Uganda Development Bank Limited on Monday 05 September 2016.

The delegation comprised:
  • Dr. Klaus Muller - the Director, Eastern Africa, DR Congo & African Union
  • Dr. Mark Schwiete - the Head of Division, Energy & Financial Sector Eastern Africa, DRC, African Union (AU) and
  • Mr. Oliver Junger - the Director KFW Office, Kampala.
The delegation held a lunch meeting with the CEO Mrs. Patricia Ojangole, the Manager Treasury Martin Roy Lukwago and the Head of Legal Dorothy Ochola.

The CEO gave a brief of UDBL's history and achievements registered in its initiative to support the private sector by availing long term financing to the Small and Medium Term Enterprises in the private sector. She also gave a brief about the sectors that the Bank sets its focus as well as the direction that the Bank wishes to take with regards to aligning its efforts with the National Development Plan (NDP) 2040 plan.

In response, the KfW delegation appreciated the achievements that UDB has registered. The KfW mission promised to continue discussions with UDB on identifying areas of financial intervention by way of providing lines of credit and grants for building the Bank's capacity.
