Silvia Angey Ufoyuru

Silvia Angey Ufoyuru

Silvia Angey Ufoyuru is the Director of the African Union Peer Review Mechanism, at the National Planning Authority of Uganda. She previously worked as the Head of Governance and Public Sector Planning and Country Coordinator for the New Partnership for Africa’s Development Initiative, which transformed into the African Union Development Agency. Prior to that she was Programme Coordinator in Danida, providing grants and representing Danida on several Donor working groups.

Silvia joined the Board of Uganda Development Bank in 2015 as Non-Executive Director and was immediately appointed the Chairperson of the UDB Board Strategic Planning Committee which in repositioning the Bank as Policy Bank.

Since 2015 to date she has served as a member of the UDB Audit & Risk Committee, an oversight committee of the Board. In addition, she is the Board Focal Point for Sustainability programmes including the Bank’s SDGs contributions, Green Financing and the Sustainability Standards Certification Initiative being implemented at the Bank, where she actively guides and gives tremendous professional support to the entire Board.

She brings to the Board and twenty-five years of Board experience and management experience in development work in both public sector, and private sector including non-profit organizations, at both national and regional levels.  Silvia has extensive experience in coordinating preparation of National Development Plans in collaboration with nation-wide stakeholders, and Strategy preparation and Execution, including preparation of Strategic Plans for over 60 Agencies of Government.

Silvia holds a Master of Arts, Economic Policy Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration, both from Makerere University Kampala, addition to a Diploma in Computer Science and Diploma in Business Studies.

She is a member of Uganda Evaluation Association, Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda, East African Facilitators of Organization Development, and the Uganda Women Entrepreneurs Association, among others.
