Product Purpose

Uganda Development Bank (UDB) offers a Trade Finance and Working Capital facility designed to provide short-term financial support to existing and operational enterprises. This product addresses working capital needs and facilitates the smooth running of day-to-day operations. It is especially suited for businesses requiring financing for bulk purchases of produce during peak seasons, acquisition of critical materials (both locally sourced and imported), and the importation of fast-moving goods essential for fulfilling local contracts. The facility includes structured trade and commodity finance, contract financing, and value chain financing. Additionally, UDB provides trade services such as letters of credit, guarantees, and documentary collections. These services can be accessed as stand-alone offerings, independent of long-term project financing, allowing businesses the flexibility to bridge operational gaps and maintain steady growth.
