Over the past years, Uganda Development Bank has been recognized locally and internationally for its achievements in enhancing operations, governance, and various other areas.

Uganda Development Bank (UDB) has won the Outstanding Business Sustainability Achievement Award in the Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Award 2025 at this year’s Global Sustainable Finance Conference in Germany.

Karlsruhe Sustainability Awards, Germany: In recognition of its sustainability efforts, UDB was awarded the title "Sustainability Leader of the Year" consecutively in 2020, 2021, and 2022 by the Karlsruhe Sustainability Awards. The bank is celebrated as the first sustainability-rated bank on the African continent and ranks among the first five globally, emphasizing its pioneering role in sustainable finance. For three consecutive years, the Bank and its Managing Director emerged the Sustainability Leader of the Year at the Karlsruhe Sustainability Awards in Germany.

UDB achieved an A+ rating from the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI), affirming its leading status as a best-performing Development Finance Institution (DFI) in Africa

The Bank is recognized as the most transformed and successful National Development Bank on the African Continent

Fitch Ratings: Uganda Development Bank (UDB) stands out as one of only two Ugandan banks rated by Fitch, reflecting its strong financial standing and stability in both national and international arenas. The bank holds a National Long-Term (LT) Rating of AAA, a National LT Issuer Rating of AA+, an International LT Issuer Rating of B, and an LT Foreign Currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) of B+. These ratings signify UDB's resilience and commitment to financial excellence.

Uganda Development Bank won the Best Public affairs campaign award at the PRAU Excellence Award, adding to its growing list of recognitions for excellence and impact in the industry.

Institute of Chartered Accountants of Uganda: UDB has been honored with multiple awards for excellence in financial reporting at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Uganda's annual Financial Reporting Awards. This recognition highlights UDB’s commitment to transparency, accuracy, and compliance in its financial disclosures, setting a benchmark for reporting standards in Uganda’s financial sector.

Association of African Development Financial Institutions (AADFI): UDB has consistently achieved an "A-institution" rating from AADFI, a designation reserved for top-performing Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). This rating acknowledges UDB’s outstanding performance, governance, and adherence to prudential standards, further reinforcing its role as a leader in African development finance.

Uganda Development Bank achieved 2nd runner-up for Financial Reporting in Banking Services and was awarded a Certificate of Merit for Best Innovation in Financial Services, acknowledging its commitment to transparency and innovation in the industry.
