The Agri-Connect initiative is an innovative digital lending solution designed to improve access to affordable finance for smallholder farmers. This groundbreaking platform enables Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) to digitally access short-term seasonal loans and savings products tailored to support the growth of their agri-businesses. The entire process from application to approval and disbursement is conducted digitally, with funds deposited directly into the farmers’ mobile wallets, ensuring convenience, speed, and transparency.

Currently being piloted in the Northern and West Nile regions, Agri-Connect is expected to benefit over 1,000 households during its initial rollout. The initiative is implemented in partnership with Ensibuuko FinTech, the Food and Agriculture Organization, the European Union, and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF). By leveraging technology, Agri-Connect aims to unlock financial inclusion for rural communities and drive agricultural transformation across Uganda.
