Director Strategy & Corporate Affairs

Joshua Allan Mwesiga joined the Bank in January 2017 in the capacity of Director Human Resources and Administration. Following the restructuring process at the Bank, Joshua was in February 2018, appointed Director Strategy & Corporate Affairs. In this position, he oversees various functions of the Bank. He is charged with the responsibility of ensuring that the Bank’s strategy, operating structures, human capital and information resources are well aligned to effectively supporting the realization of UDB’s long term aspirations, and that the Bank maintains sound and sustainable relationships with its key stakeholders.

Joshua has over 13 years progressive professional experience spanning across the financial services, energy and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining UDB, Joshua served at various institutions in different capacities – including Equity Bank where he worked as General Manager Human Resources, KCB Bank Uganda as Head of HR, Uganda Electricity Distribution Company (UEDCL) as the Corporate Planner and UNCHR’s South Western Refugee Project as the Community Services Supervisor.

Joshua is a versatile leader with varied experiences in managing diverse cross-functional teams and projects, is a reputed human capital management practitioner and occasionally facilitates at various training and professional engagements both locally and beyond. He is credited with having effectively managed the 2017 restructuring processes at UDB and for delivering various people-led business solutions that have contributed to the sustained growth of the Bank.

Joshua holds a B.A Social Sciences (Economics and Administration) from Makerere University; an Advanced Diploma in Modern Management; and MSc. Human Resource Management from the Herriot-Watt University (UK). He is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) in the USA, a member of the HR Managers’ Association of Uganda, holds Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification and is a graduate of the CEO Apprenticeship Program from Strathmore Business School.
